Lindsay “Olive Pizza Recipe Challenge” Challenge

No purchase or payment of any kind is necessary to enter or win this contest.

  1. Eligibility: Lindsay’s “Olive Pizza Recipe Challenge” Contest is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia (“DC”), 10 years or older as of the date of entry. Employees of Chronicle Books, Pyzano’s, World Pizza Champions, Lindsay Olives (“Sponsor”) and its respective parent company (Bell-Carter Foods, Inc.), subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, production agencies, and its respective IRS dependents, immediate family members and/or those individuals residing in the same household, are not eligible. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Void outside of the 50 United States and DC, and where prohibited or restricted by law. Participants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judges which shall be final in all respects.
  2. How to Enter: The Contest begins at 12:00:01 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (“PST”) on 5/19/2009 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. PST on 7/5/2009 (“Contest Period”). To enter the contest, visit http://lindsayolives.com/pizza during the Contest Period and follow the on-screen entry instructions by providing your complete name, home address, phone numbers, email address, answering the designated questions, entering your recipe and clicking “Submit.” All entries must be received by 11:59:59 p.m. PST on 7/5/2009. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, misdirected, technically corrupted or garbled entries, which will be disqualified. All entries are the property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged.
  3. Judging Criteria: One (1) Grand Prize winner and eleven (11) runners-up will be selected. Winners will be selected within 60 days of the end date of the Contest Period, from among all eligible entries received during the Contest Period. Judging for which entrants with the best stories will be based on the following judging criteria: taste (20%), originality (20%), visual appeal (20%), and how well olives are used in the recipe (40%). All entries must be original and include Lindsay Olives in order to be eligible. By entering, each entrant forfeits to Lindsay Olives all rights to the recipe. Lindsay Olives reserves the right to edit, adapt, copyright and publish any or all entries, and may use the recipes in any media without attribution or further compensation. Entrants grant Lindsay Olives the right to use entrants’ names, images, likenesses, voices and biographical materials, as well as entrants’ entries for advertising, publicity and promotion purposes including without limitation online announcements without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law. Entrants shall not receive any compensation or credit for use of entries, other than that disclosed in rules.
  4. Notification: Winners will be notified by telephone, email or mail within approximately two (2) weeks following winner selection. No substitution, assignment or transfer of prize permitted by winner, but Sponsor reserves right to substitute prize with prize of equal or greater value, at Sponsor’s sole discretion.
  5. Prize And Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): One (1) Grand Prize Winner will be awarded: $250 provided to local pizzeria of their choice for pizza party, 12 cases of Lindsay Olives, Grand Prize Certificate, a copy of Tony and the Pizza Champions, signed by the World Pizza Champions; recipe featured on menu at Pyzano’s Restaurant, Castro Valley, CA; short video of Tony Gemignani making winner’s recipe. ARV: $500. Eleven (11) Runners-Up will receive a copy of Tony and the Pizza Champions, signed by Tony Gemignani. ARV: $30. Prize substitutions, transfers or cash equivalent are not allowed, except Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a similar prize of equal or greater value if the featured prize or any part thereof becomes unavailable. Prize consists of only those items listed as part of the prize.
  6. Liability Limitations: Sponsor and its agencies are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, misdirected, unintelligible, returned, or undelivered entries, or for lost, interrupted or unavailable satellite, network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections, or availability or accessibility, or miscommunications, or failed computer, telephone, satellite or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure, or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions, computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic or network, or incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry or other information, or failure to capture any such information. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAW. SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the Contest or web site, as solely determined by Sponsor, will be disqualified. Sponsor and their respective directors, officers, shareholders, parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, and promotional and advertising agencies are not responsible for injury or damage to participants or to any other persons’ computer related to or resulting from the participation in this Contest, or downloading materials from or use of the website. Should any portion of Contest be, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, compromised by virus, technical failures, worms, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes which, in the sole opinion of Sponsor, corrupts or impairs administration, security, fairness or proper play, or submission of entries, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest and select winner from eligible entries received prior to action taken or as otherwise deemed fair and appropriate, at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor and their respective directors, officers, shareholders, parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, and promotional and advertising agencies are not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information concerning this Contest, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest, and further assume no responsibility for any error, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation, or transmission, communications line failure, technical failure, theft or destruction, or unauthorized use of website. In the event of a dispute regarding any entry, the entry will be deemed made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry (i.e., the person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, on-line service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address). All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of winner. By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor, their respective advertising and promotion agencies and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors, from any and all liability, for loss, harm, damage, injury, cost or expense whatsoever including without limitation, property damage, personal injury and/or death which may occur in connection with, preparation for, or participation in the Contest, or possession, acceptance and/or use or misuse of prize or participation in any Contest-related activity and for any claims based on publicity rights, defamation invasion of privacy, merchandise delivery and/or copyright infringement. Winners, by accepting the prize, except where legally prohibited, grants permission for Sponsor (and agrees to confirm such agreement in writing upon Sponsor’s request) to use his/her name, photograph, voice and/or likeness, and prize information, for purposes of advertising, trade and promotion without further compensation, in all media now known or hereafter discovered world wide and on the World Wide Web, without notice or review or approval.
